On Forgiveness

I would like to post my reply to a FB friend who wisely reminded us that if we love people we should not say hurtful things to them, because no matter what, you cannot truly take it back once it has been said. This is wise advice and very noble to aspire to!

This was my reply:
“Unfortunately, we all say things that are hurtful on accident. So forgiveness becomes a beautiful thing. It can be so hard to forgive and forget sometimes, but even if we just try try try and never stop trying, that is when we are closest to the divine spark that is in us all.”

I believe in what I said, I believe it very deeply. To forgive is most certainly divine. We are closest to The Divine, The Universe, The Great Spirit, God or Goddess, Our Highest Self, whatever we all call that part that represents the sum of all our parts. I aspire to this. I am not very good at it sometimes, because there are things I hold grudges about that I should have left behind years ago. I err, therefore I am human, I forgive therefore I am divine. I am WAY MORE human than divine! But we can not become more than the sum of our parts without pushing ourselves to the limit and even beyond that limit.

Hoodoo Conjure is GONE

For more than three years, the internet site http://hoodoo-conjure.com has been a main feature of my expression of hoodoo. It has been my joy to find great information on hoodoo and conjure on the internet and collect it in one place.

Much of the information that I published on my site was not mine to publish, nor did I have permission to upload it. I removed everything that came to my attention as being not mine to publish.

Over the past three years, I have been hassled about the site regardless of what I did with it, and regardless of how much I tried to remove things that weren’t mine, there always seemed to be some page or some bit that remained on it.
I am exhausted as a result. I am defeated. The public harassment from cat yronwode and her followers has worked. I no longer have the energy for this and her continued humiliation of me has finally completely crushed me. If cat is the kind who likes to win at any cost, she has won. I hope she takes satisfaction in it. I am happy to hand to her the victory she wants.

As of today, the entire site has been completely deleted with the exception of the blog. This is the ONLY way I know of to stop worrying if there are any unintended copyright violations. If the site is gone, we all know that there is no information that rightly belongs to another on the site.

For those who have befriended me, I thank you deeply, you mean a lot to me. For those who have hated and harassed me, I hope that you find your own way your own road that is very very far away from me.

The Copyright of Hoodoo Recipes and Formulas

For those who may wonder if recipes can be copyrighted, here is a really great link on it.  http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl122.html

Admittedly, when we think of recipes, the first thing that comes to mind is food recipes. Your gramma’s lasagna that tasted like no other lasagna. Your mom’s soup that she gave you when you were sick.  In my case, my mom made soft boiled eggs, put on toast and salt and peppered it with just the right amount. Every time I was sick or upset, I asked her to make it.  She tried to get me to learn how to make it, but frankly it didn’t taste the same at all.  My son says that no one can make Cream of Wheat like I can.  Which is weird, because how to do it is right there on the box. 😀

So what about hoodoo recipes? Can they be copyrighted?

The page I linked above says NO. A recipe or formula that is just a list of ingredients cannot be copyrighted. What may be copyrighted is the expression or the description or the explanation of how it is made.

If I wrote out a bath recipe telling a person to put kosher salt, some Florida water and a teaspoon of basil, that is not copyrightable. It’s just a list of ingredients. If I write out several paragraphs detailing the amount and a specific way of making and using the bath, well my description is copyrighted.

Cleansing Bath and Protection Work

Cleansing Bath and Protection Work

1. Prepare your cleansing spiritual water. Gather these herbs (dried versions of the herbs are acceptable and if you plan on using this cleansing mixture for several days in a row, it is permissible to make up a big batch of it and keep it in the fridge). 4 sprigs of rosemary 3 Bay Leaves 2 bunches of fresh basil 2 oz of fennel 1 sprig of fresh dill The suggested number of days to take is bath is at least three if you need only a light cleansing to 13 days if you need a heavy duty cleansing. Heat up your herbs in a microwave safe container and let the herbs infuse in the heat. Strain your herbs. While your infusion is still hot, pour them into a suitable container (I like either a bowl or one of those tall plastic drink pourers with a spout that you might put ice tea or lemonade in). Take it to your shower, get your shower started, and before you get in, pray a cleansing prayer such as “I claim my spiritual cleansing by the blood of Jesus Christ whom I confess to be my Savior and my Lord” or other prayer that is suitable for you.

2. Once in the shower, dip your wash cloth into the infusion, and with a downward motion, clean yourself with the mixture. At the very end of your shower, pour the remaining infusion over your head and pray to be cleansed.

3. For a minimum of 3 days, perform the following Protection form Evil Influences candle ritual:

What you will need is 1 candle to represent you, one purple candle, and protection incense. As you light your candles, pray the following:

In the Name which is above every other name, and in the power of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, I exorcise all seeds and influences of evil. I lay upon them the spell of Christ’s Holy Church, that they may be bound fast as with chains and cast into outer darkness, that they trouble not the servants of God (Dion Fortune)

The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked

1 Blessed is the man[a] who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;

2 but his delight is in the law[b] of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; 6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

4. At the conclusion of your candle work, it is time to seal your working with a protection bath; for cleansing leaves an empty space in you that needs to be filled in. Make up a small batch of water, rue, sea salt, and a splash of 4 Thieves Vinegar or your pee or ammonia. Dip your fresh unused wash cloth into the mixture and with an upward motion, say this prayer: I have faith for God is my guard, my security, my protection.

Easy Negativity Removal Spell

Easy spell to remove negativity,evil eye, bad luck etc. As well, after 3 days this will show you if you have a job being done on you or not.

Ingredients:
Sea salt
Half a lemon
Small Plate
5 cloves
Knife

You’ll place salt all over the plate then with the knife make a cross in the salt, as if you were slicing a lemon, but you’re going to do a cross. Symbolizing cutting all bad from your life. Place the lemon on top of the salt then the 5 cloves in the lemon- Sign of a cross and 1 in the middle. Leave it under your bed for 3 days then dispose it properly.

If it dries up that just means it sucked out the negativity.
If it gets rotten then you have some negativity around you and it’s affecting you. You’re over thinking it and you need to change your ways of thinking.
If it turns black then there is some witchcraft going on.
